Exclusive:Civil Society Organizations Plan Mass Protest Against the Retention of GMD of NNPCL,Kele Kyari Despite monumental Fraud

Prominent civil society Organisations across the country under the aegis of the Civil Society Coalition Against Corruption have concluded arrangements to storm  cities of  Abuja and Lagos this month to protest against "the retention of the Group Management Director of the Nigeria  National Petroleum Corporation Limited ,Meke Kyari, despite monumental fraud perpetrated under him"

The CSOs at a meeting in Lagos on Saturday disclosed that the NNPCL under Kyari has recorded fraudulent practices ,that retaining him by  President Bola Tinubu is tantamount to endorsing his actions.

In an exclusive chat after the meeting,a strong member of the Coalition,Comrade Gbenga Soloki stated that from all they have gathered, the GMD of NNPCL has turned the finances of the company into his personal money ,that he doles out anyhow and to whoever he wishes

He maintained that aside the fraud being perpetrated under Kyari,he employed several children of his friends, tribesmen and acquaintances without recourse to laid down rules guiding employment

The group further averred that the purchase of shares to the Dangote Refinery without subjecting such to approval is criminal in nature..

In his words " there is a new regime, characters like Mele Kyari who have fraudulently enriched themselves should not be allowed to infest the new regime, they should be shown the way out. A man who refused to subject major decisions of the company to popular debate of other stakeholders is not fit and proper for public office. He continues to run the company as a private business of his"

"We have decided to put in place a week long protest march against him in Lagos and Abuja ,to show to the world his unquantifiable fraud ,never witnessed in the history of the country..

Members of the group promised to continue to protest against Kyari until the President shows him the exit door ,as well as hand him over to security agencies for prosecution.

Prominent Groups in the Coalition include Committee for the defence of human rights (CDHR),Coalition of  Oodua Self Determination Groups (COSEG),Committee for the protection of People's Rights ,committee for the protection of social economic rights, centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence,Centre for Public Accountability,Peace and Development Project,Mandate Protection Vanguard etc
