Former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has been placed under arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Less than an hour after he was liberated from the Department of State Services' custody, Emefiele was hauled up on Thursday night.
As per the information obtained, the former governor of CBN is presently being questioning at the EFCC's National Headquarters located in Jabi, Abuja.
Recall that in June, President Bola Tinubu dismissed Emefiele from office effective immediately and the DSS detained him on the same day.
Emefiele was suspended at the time because of "the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy," according to the Presidency.
