Family Declares Activist Missing After Organizing Rally in Support of LGBTQ

The family of an Activist, Comrade Balogun Taofeek Olasile has declared him missing after he and his colleagues organized a rally to drum up support for the rights of gay and Lesbians in the state

The Activist, who is a Prince from Sagamu in Ogun state, is a thirty-eight year old, married ,who resides at Lalu Estate in Sagamu and a committed Activist, who has been at running battle with the police over his campaign for the rights of Lesbians and Gays in the state

His wife Balogun Sefiat Abisoye disclosed that her husband went missing immediately himself and his colleagues organized a rally in the state capital Abeokuta to drum support for the rights

It was gathered that the activist had earlier informed the police authority of plans for the rally and requested for police protection and support, but it was further revealed that some of his colleagues were arrested and kept incommunicado, which prompted him to write a letter to the police , requesting for the release of his members as they are peace loving people , exercising their rights to freely associate

The Activist who is the Executive Director of LGBTQ Advocator of Nigeria, before his disappearance informed his wife  of being under the watchlist of the police, but he  insisted he wont be deterred by that, as he has a right to freedom of movement

Mrs Balogun Sefiat Abisoye the wife of the Activist intimated that he is the breadwinner of the entire family and as such his disappearance has caused untold hardship to the family, calling on government to help locate her husband , whom she described as "peace loving, quiet and reliable"

Effort by this medium to speak with the police on the matter proved abortive as phone call made  to the police public relations officer was unanswered and  message was ignored.
