Lagos Assembly Congratulates Acting CJN,Justice Kekere-Ekun on Appointment




Members of the Lagos state house of Assembly have congratulated  the newly appointed Acting   Chief Justice  of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun on her appointment  and subsequent  swearing-in by President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu 


The Assembly in a Press statement  issued on Friday, signed by the Chairman  house committee  of Information m strategy  and security,  Hon Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode described the appointment  as" well deserved,  praising  Justcie Kekere-Ekun  for her steadfastness  and commitment  to the cause of justice 




According  to hon Ogundipe " I extend our heartfelt wishes on behalf of our mentor and leader; Rt Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; Mr Speaker, Principal Officers and Distinguished colleagues, to congratulate Honorable Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun on her appointment and subsequent swearing in as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). Aside being a well-deserved appointment, it is also a thing of joy and pride for all of us as representatives of the good people of Lagos to have our daughter appointed as the second female Chief Justice of Nigeria. This honor is a testament to Justice Kekere-Ekun's unwavering commitment to selfless service to our beloved state. Her long and exceptional service within the Lagos State Judiciary left an indelible mark before her elevation twenty years ago to the Court of Appeal and nine years ago to the Supreme Court"


He posited that the recognition bestowed upon her is a reflection of the tireless efforts, resilience, and love she has consistently demonstrated throughout her career.


"Hon Justice Kekere-Ekun's contributions span beyond her service in the public sector; they also encompass a deep dedication to the community and less privileged. This appointment is a well-deserved culmination of her enduring commitment and we hereby encourage her to continue to uphold the best standards of practices for fairness, equity and justice in the new office taking cognizance of maintaining the integrity of the Judiciary at all times"


Conclusively he said "We join many well wishers and most importantly Lagosians in expressing gratitude to the Almighty on the attainment of the pinnacle of her career and for the blessings that have illuminated her path and that of her family. This achievement is not only a testament to her personal journey but also to the collective endeavors of those who share in her vision"
