LAGOS DSVA HARPS ON CONTINUOUS REPORTING OF SGBV CASES AT IKOSI ISHERI ENGAGEMENT

The Lagos DSVA has continued its statewide sensitization efforts during its engagement with CDCs across the State today as the Community Engagement Team conducted a session in Ikosi-Isheri during their monthly meeting to brief CDC members.

Aligning with the agency’s objective to reduce SGBV, Executive Secretary Mrs. Titilola Vivour Adeniyi stressed the need for sustained awareness initiatives.

She noted that the rise in the continuous engagement had encouraged many survivors to break the culture of silence, patriarchy and other reasons earlier experienced in the State and increased cases reported at the Agency.

Mr. Damilare Adewusi, Head of Community Engagement, highlighted the role of community leaders as mandated reporters, emphasizing that they must report and not conceal SGBV cases.

He outlined different reporting methods, introduced available Family Support Units (FSUs), and shared the toll-free 08000333333 hotline information.

CDC Chairman, Chief Adekoya Adeshina thanked the government and the Agency for their efforts and he assured commitment to supporting the fight against SGBV.

SGBV-related materials were distributed at the session which had 65 participants in attendance.
