The Chairman, House Committee on Information Strategy and Security of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode has advocated for _*see, say and sorted*_ slogan to tackle insecurity in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
Ogundipe who was the Special Guest at the inaugural Lagos State Neighborhood Security Corp parley with the media held at the Safety Arena, the operational base of the agency with the theme, *The role of technology in community policing, creating new perspectives* charged nigerians to make security everyone's business by _saying_ something whenever they _see_ something wrong in order to be _sorted_ for the peace of all in the country.
In his remarks, Hon Ogundipe representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency-1 charged the officers and men of the safety corps to be more proactive in community policing as that's the only way the rampaging insecurity in the state can be surmounted and he appealed to Lagosians to support and cooperate with all security agencies by giving out useful information that will assist in carrying out their operations at all times whenever wrong or bad things are noticed in order to make our society a crime free one.
"The Lagos State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa is ready as ever to support all security agencies saddled with the protection of lives and properties. I also want to appeal to Lagosians to always make use of the slogan if you see something , say something for the safety of all". Ogundipe said.
Meanwhile, The General Manager of the Lagos Neighborhood Security Corp (LNSC); Prince (Dr) Ifalade Ajasa Oyekan, in his address at the media parley reeled out many achievements of the agency and efforts being put in place to improve on their primary responsibilities of community policing. He said himself and his officers are into modern policing with gathering and dissemination of credible intelligent information.
Prince Oyekan intimated the media with the structural organogram of the agency for the education of the public.
1-General Manager who's superintendent and the Commander in Chief of the agency,
6-Directors manning the six directorates for the agency,
5-Operational Divisions,18-Zonal Commandants for Zonal commands, 57-Area Commandants for Area commands and 5,700 officers and men.
Prince Oyekan disclosed the safety corps are now using modern drone technology code named LSNC eagle eye on the sky, to gather information in the coastal region and some dark spot on the mainland. He further revealed his men and officers are now using body tracker and camera for effectiveness and efficiency which has impacted their operations greatly.
The GM who explained with the aid of projectors demonstrated how the model drone technology is put into use for the monitoring of security situation across the length and breath of Lagos as well as the the activities of the agency's officers and men.
Prince Oyekan in conclusion announced to the press that the agency would soon commence the recruitment of about four thousand men by all the safety agencies (LNSC, KAI, CBD) in Lagos once the necessary approval is gotten.
