The spokesperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-1, today delivered a message of hope to Nigerians. He spoke passionately during a plenary session presided by the speaker, Rt Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa at the Lagos State Assembly on October 7, 2024, themed "Nigeria @64,".
Hon. Ogundipe Olukayode Stephen, urged citizens to stand firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision for a brighter future, emphasizing the belief that Nigeria will rise again, achieving prosperity and becoming a better nation for all.
Ogundipe highlighted President Tinubu's efforts in steering the nation towards a positive path through strategic policy formulation. He expressed confidence that these policies will bring smiles back to the faces of Nigerians.
He acknowledged that President Tinubu, upon assuming office, informed the nation that difficult decisions would be necessary to address long-standing economic challenges. He emphasized the need for patience and understanding from all citizens as these measures are implemented.
He assured the Nigerians and Lagosians that policies addressing key issues faced by Nigerians especially food and security challenges are already being developed, specifically mentioned the president's awareness of the significant youth population (60% of Nigeria) and his plans to engage them through a proposed National Youth Congress. This platform will provide a space to address the challenges faced by young Nigerians.
He also addressed the pressing issue of natural disasters, emphasizing President Tinubu's commitment to preventing future occurrences and minimizing their impact.
He reiterated the Lagos Assembly's crucial role in providing economic advisory to the executive branch, ensuring a healthy business environment, particularly for the small-scale business sector.
Finally, Ogundipe called upon Nigerians to work together in strengthening democratic institutions, which are essential for a thriving and prosperous nation.
