The Lagos DSVA has continued its Statewide sensitization to all CDCs/CDAs across the state and the Community Engagement Team of the agency was at Olorunda LCDA on the 16th of October, 2024.
The Executive Secretary, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, stated that reaching these communities was critical for collaborative efforts in the fight against all forms of abuse and violence, and that it was necessary to keep these issues on the front burner as the CDC body serves as a grassroot approach to reaching members in their respective communities.
Head of Community engagement unit, Mr. Damilare Adewusi addressed the participants on the alarming issues of SGBV, the forms of abuse, preventive measures, myths surrounding SGBV, reporting procedures, and the available support services were discussed in the meeting.
The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area CDC, Elder Ganiyu Abdul Adesina appreciated the agency for bringing such vital information to the CDC leaders and members of the community.
The sessions concluded with the dissemination of the toll-free line, 08000-333-333.
The participants assured the agency that the message was successfully gotten and they would do the needful by reporting such cases via the toll-free line once there are cases of SGBV in their communities.
