The Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, has re-affirmed "Paramo International Spare Parts Market" as the original name of one of the market segments at Ladipo market in Mushin.
Speaking during a briefing with members of the newly constituted board of the market, the council boss confirmed that the name; Paramo is in honour of the late developer of the market, Alhaji Hassan Olajoku, who constructed the market through his company "Paramo Development Ventures Limited" in 2002.
This measure is in line with the decision of both the Executive and legislative councils of the local government to reposition the popular market (which was suddenly renamed by some traders in the market to "Aguiyi Ironsi market"), without consultation or approval from the council authority.
In his affirmation, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye has pronounced that the market should henceforth be pronounced and addressed as "PARAMO INTERNATIONAL SPARE PARTS MARKET", as the council has taken full administrative control and management of the market, in order to ethrone peace and regulate activities of traders in the market.
For the records, the council hereby uses this medium to inform all government institutions and agencies, corporate organisations, financial institutions, private organizations and other institutions both in Lagos State, Federal Republic of Nigeria and in diaspora that, there is no segment of Ladipo market known as Aguiyi Ironsi, instead; Paramo International Spare Parts Market, Ladipo.
