The Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Binta Adamu Bello, OON, received the Management of the Tabitha Empowerment Centre, led by the Founder/Executive Director, Christina Uzo—Okamgba, on Tuesday as they paid her a courtesy visit at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja.
Tabitha Empowerment Centre is a non–governmental organization committed to eliminating domestic violence through advocacy and sensitization targeting individuals and communities.
Speaking during the visit, the Founder/Executive Director of the Organization, Christina Uzo—Okamgba, commended NAPTIP for its efforts in the eradication of Sexual and Gender Based Violence through stringent policy implementation, improved partnership, and collaboration as well as proactive intervention and responses. She sought more support.
In her response, the Director General, Binta Adamu Bello, OON, lauded the Management of the Organization for its modest achievements in curtailing the incidence of SGBV in the Country and urged them to expand the scope of their activities to include the use of cultural platforms to sensitize the people on the dangers of sexual abuse.
The Director General assured the organization of the continuous collaboration and support from NAPTIP.
