The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Yola Operations Office, led by its Search and Rescue Officer Mr. Pius Ene responded promptly to a fire outbreak at a warehouse located at KM 10 along Yola-Numan Road, Adamawa State, on January 22, 2025, around 2:00 PM.
The fire, which occurred at the Yola Oil Mill Nigeria warehouse, was fueled by flammable materials such as compressors, rubber, and LNG cylinders, causing intense flames and multiple explosions. Despite the challenges, NEMA, in collaboration with the Federal and State Fire Services, contained the fire after several hours with the deployment of foam tenders and reinforcements.
No casualties were recorded, but appliances and goods worth millions of Naira were destroyed. Agencies on-site included NEMA, SEMA, NOA, Federal and State Fire Services, the Nigeria Police Force, and NSCDC. Firefighters remain on ground to monitor the situation and ensure safety.
