The leadership of the national union of road transport Workers (NURTW) on Thursday in Lagos signed a peace accord ,with a promise to carry out their operations without any form of disturbances and within the ambit of the law

In order to broker peace between the National Executive Members and the Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa facilitated the accord to guide the union's operations and interactions.
At the resolution meeting held in his office Alausa, the Special Adviser emphasized that internal disharmony within the union could adversely affect other areas of commercial activities within the State. He urged the union’s leadership to prioritize peace for the benefit of all Stakeholders in the transport sector.
Further speaking on the Peace Accord, Hon. Giwa explained that by signing agreement to maintain peace and order, the union reaffirms its commitment to fostering unity and stability while safeguarding members’ welfare.
The two leaders of the NURTW promised to maintain peace ans harmony in their parks and garages across the state
Speaking briefly after the ceremony, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Adio disclosed that under his watch, peace ans tranquility shall be the order of the day,assuring all that the era of forceful hijack of garages is over
He posited that his leadership will not tolerate any act that will disturb the peace of the society,as businesses will thrive only in peaceful environment
