African Cleanup Initiative Celebrates 15 Years of Transformational Environmental Action





 The African Cleanup Initiative (ACI), a leading non-profit organization committed to environmental sustainability and community development, proudly marks its 15th anniversary. Since its inception in 2010, ACI has championed community-led action and driven sustainable environmental practices across Africa.


"Celebrating 15 years of impact fills us with immense joy and gratitude to God. Our unwavering commitment to fostering thriving communities, combined with the relentless dedication of our exceptional team, has been the cornerstone of our success," said Dr. Alexander Akhigbe, Founder/CEO of African Cleanup Initiative.




A Week of Impactful Activities


To commemorate this significant milestone, ACI has organized a series of engaging events to celebrate achievements, engage communities, and set the stage for future initiatives.


Schedule of Activities:


Day 1: ACI Tree of Life Project – Planting 15,000 Trees

A nationwide tree-planting initiative to restore ecosystems, combat climate change, and promote greener communities.


Day 2: Nationwide Cleanup Drive

Volunteers across the country will mobilize to clean their communities, fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.


Day 3: Bottles for Pads Project

ACI will distribute 5,000 sanitary pads to secondary school girls, promoting menstrual hygiene while emphasizing sustainability.


Day 4: Green Advocate Book Distribution

15,000 primary school pupils will receive the ACI Green Advocate Comic Book, educating them on climate change, waste management, recycling, and environmental sustainability.



Day 5: RecyclesPay Quiz and Debate Competition

Students in Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA will engage in discussions on waste management, recycling, and climate change, fostering awareness and inspiring action.


Day 6: Awards & Dinner Night

A special evening to recognize and appreciate stakeholders, volunteers, and partners who have contributed to ACI’s journey.


Day 7: Thanksgiving Service

A time to reflect, appreciate, and give thanks as the celebration comes to a close.
