The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) conducted sensitization programs on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) for children and teenagers at RCCG Sufficient Grace Parish, Fadeyi, and RCCG Temple of God Parish, Lekki Phase 1.
Mr. Olatosin Akinde Emmanuel, DSVA’s Community Engagement Officer, educated over 150 participants on different forms of SGBV, emphasizing that children cannot give consent and stressing the importance of healthy relationships and respect for boundaries.
Participants learned about legal protections, available support services—including free counseling, shelter, and rehabilitation—and how to report abuse via DSVA’s toll-free line: 08000-333-333.
The interactive sessions encouraged children to be ambassadors against SGBV, speak out against abuse, and promote a culture of respect. Pastors and church representatives expressed gratitude for the initiative and pledged ongoing support in spreading awareness.
The engagements ended with a strong call to action, reinforcing the message of zero tolerance for abuse and ensuring that every participant memorized DSVA’s helpline for immediate assistance.
