The National Inter School Music Competition and Academic Award is a social engineering platform established in 2009 by Mr. Olushola Adebola whose passion for music promotion as a tool for social change is unyielding.
NISMCAA is a veritable platform for talent discovery and promotion amongst secondary school students in Lagos.
With this year's theme, "Music for Social Change", the event drew the attention of scholars, social engineers, development workers and teachers that resonate with the possibility and potentials of an evolving Nigeria where music is used to instil values in the mind of the people.
Receiving an award of "Social Justice and Equality Award" in recognition and appreciation of her excellence and support for NISMCAA 9th Edition which was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the University of Lagos, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin applauded the organisers for taking up the challenge of advocating for good music as it influences the mind of every listener. She urged the contestants to see themselves as positive change agents in the society whose influence on everyone that interacts with them can not be over emphasised. Stressing that music can be used to discourage our young ones from taking to crimes and committing suicide.
She dedicated her award to every contestants, noting that they are the leaders of today.
