Lagos DSVA Partners with Tolaram to Sensitize Power Oil Staff on Workplace Harassment During International Women’s Day Conference.

 


In commemoration of International Women’s Day with the theme “Accelerate Action”, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), in partnership with Tolaram, sensitized Power Oil staff on fostering a harassment-free workplace. This engagement was part of a two-day virtual conference aimed at driving meaningful progress toward gender equality and empowerment.


Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of DSVA, emphasized the program’s objective of creating safe and inclusive workplaces where all employees feel protected from harassment and discrimination.


The session saw active participation, with employees asking questions and contributing to discussions. DSVA also distributed informational materials on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), including the toll-free helpline 08000-333-333, for further support.


9 physical staff, 11 locations joined in groups virtually and 102 Person individual staff. Over 350 staff of Tolaram were engaged. Mrs. Oni Tumininu, Head of Case Management at DSVA, provided insights on different forms of workplace harassment. She explored its impact, preventive measures, and the available support services for survivors. 



Mrs. Chidinma Okonkwo, Head of Health, Safety, and Environmental Department at Power Oil, expressed appreciation to DSVA for the session. She emphasized the importance of reporting cases of workplace harassment to the management or Human Resources department, urging employees to be bold and courageous in speaking up against any form of harassment.
