Osun born popular human rights Activist,Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman,popularly known as 'Revolutionary Alfa' on Tuesday died in a lone ghastly motor accident that occured along Abeokuta-Sagamu road at age of 53 years.
It was learnt that Comrade Sulaiman boarded a vehicle coming to Ibadan on the fateful day before the vehicle he boarded had a road crash along the road.
Until his death,late Sulaiman was the Executive Chairman,Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice(CHRSJ) and Chairman,Civil Societies Coalition for the Emmancipation of Osun State(CSCEOS).
Comrade Sulaiman was an ardent follower of late Chief Gani Fawehinmi,SAN and beliver and apostle of live and let other lives,adding that during his life time,he was first Oranmiyan Youth Leader,a socio-political organization under former Osun State Governor,Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and he was a true servant of Allah.
The late rights activist was once a member of Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM), National Conscience(NC), Committee for Democracy and Right of the People(CDRP), Committee for Defence of Human Rights(CDHR),Mainstream Conscience, Joint Action Committee of Nigeria(JACON), National Conscience Party(NCP), Muslim Students Society of Nigeria(MSSN) and host of other human rights organizations in Nigeria.
Announcing the sad news of his untimely death through a press statement released by CHRSJ's Media Office and signed by its Assistant General Secretary(AGS), Pastor Micheal Agaasi,which the copies were made available to newsmen on Thursday,stated that he was a fearless and dogged fighter while alive and a rare leader in his own right.
Pastor Agaasi described Sulaima's untimely death as very sad, rude shock and unfortunate incident for the human rights community in Nigeria, particularly,Southwestern Nigeria which was hard to bear,adding that his death was painful to marrow and another blow to the good people of Osun State,especially civil servants and pensioners alike in the State.
CHRSJ scribe further described his death as a great loss to downtrodden masses in the country,adding that his death was spiritually attached to the struggle to reclaim his untainted mandate in respect of the stool of Alawo of Awo upon discovery of eleven(11) falsification documents against the incumbent on the stool.
Speaking further, Agaasi stated that "our society has lost a rare personality with uncommon humility and courage",adding that he denied himself world materialism in the course of love for the common masses.
Pastor Agaasi disclosed that the late CHRSJ Boss has been burried according to Islamic rites at Abioye Ruling House/Compound,Awo in Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State..
The statement said that the late Sulaiman was survived by two wives,children,elder sisters,elder brother and younger brother.
