LASG, EDC TO SHOWCASE TRAINED YOUTHS AT MARKET PLACE EVENT ON FRIDAY

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, in collaboration with its employment partner, the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University, has successfully trained 2,000 youths, including women, in Creative Arts, Digital, and Agro-based business sectors.

This was disclosed by the Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, in a statement issued from his office on Tuesday.

According to the Commissioner, the comprehensive training programme equipped participants with essential skills, knowledge, and the entrepreneurial mindset required to thrive in today’s business landscape. The curriculum covered the entire spectrum of entrepreneurship - from ideation and business development to securing financing, marketing strategies, and effective team management.

To celebrate the accomplishments of these young entrepreneurs and to showcase their businesses, the Ministry in conjunction with EDC is organising a Transforming Nigerian Youths (TNY)Market Place Event at JJT Park, Alausa, Ikeja, on Friday, 23rd May 2025. The event aims to highlight the entrepreneurial drive and innovation of the programme's beneficiaries, as part of the Ministry’s broader objective to empower 10,000 youths within 24 months.

The Ministry, therefore, called on all well-meaning Lagosians to attend and support the young entrepreneurs as they display their products and services, contributing to the State’s vision of inclusive economic growth and sustainable youth empowerment.
