Board members of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Nigeria on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State as the 75th World Real Estate Congress holds in the city from June 9 to 13, 2025.
The event is scheduled to hold at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island with the theme "Global Real Estate Renaissance."
On the entourage were Mr. Bolu Olanrewaju; Senior Partner, Knight Frank Nigeria, Mr Frank Okosun; President, International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Nigeria chapter, Mr. Akin Opatola; and FIABCI President, Africa and Near East Region, Mr. Adeniji Adele.
Others were Past President, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Mr. Bode Adediji; other board members of FIABCI, Mr Adeniyi Tinubu; Ms. Aderemi A. Fagbemi Consultant,Strategy and stakeholders engagement and Mr. Rogba Orimolade MNI
According to a statement from the organisers’ media office, the congress marks the first time the global congress will be held on the African continent; a significant achievement for Nigeria and Africa’s real estate industry.
The event will spotlight Lagos’ thriving real estate market and position the state as a hub of investment opportunities under the banner of the “Invest in Lagos” agenda, showcasing the city's potential for growth, innovation, and collaboration.
It is expected to attract delegates and stakeholders from over 70 countries, including investors, developers, policymakers, and industry thought leaders.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve as the Grand Host of the event.
Keynote speakers include; Professor Yemi Osinbajo, a former Vice President of Nigeria, Mr. Kevin Brown, President-elect of the National Association of Realtors (USA) and Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will serve as the Chief Host, supported by Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai, Commissioner for Housing (Co-Host) and Barr. Barakat Bakare Odunuga, Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing (Hostess).
Adding cultural prestige to the congress, His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, will grace the occasion as Royal Guest of Honour.
“This congress is poised to attract global industry leaders, investors, and professionals, further solidifying Lagos’ position as Africa’s premier destination for real estate investment,” the organisers noted in the statement.
