In a strategic effort to celebrate selfless contributions and inspire future leaders, the Lagos State Education District IV (EDDIV) recently hosted its highly anticipated third edition of the "Know the Heroes Schools' Challenge."
Held at the District Headquarters Hall, the event, organised in collaboration with the Austin Avuru Foundation, aimed to recognise individuals who have made significant impacts within Lagos State and beyond, while fostering innovation among students.
Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District IV, expressed gratitude for the District's achievements while commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for fostering an enabling environment for educational advancement. He also acknowledged the support of Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, and Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro.
"Heroes are made, not born," Mr. Osinaike declared, encouraging students to embody the values that define true heroism. He urged those who did not participate this year to prepare for future editions, aspiring to be recognised as heroes themselves.
Mr. Dauda Hassan, Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District V, lauded all participants of the Heroes Challenge and encouraged others to strive for even greater achievements in subsequent editions. He implored teachers to continue their vital role in moulding students into future heroes.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Charles Olajide of Oduala Kingdom, Ondo State (Retired TG/PS Education District V), also praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's dedication to education as a core pillar of his administration, advising participants to persist in their efforts to become the heroes of their time.
