As former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR is laid to rest today, I, on behalf of the entire Nigerian youth constituency, extend heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, members of our great party, the APC, and to all Nigerians mourning the transition of a man whose life embodied service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the nation.
President Buhari came into leadership at a remarkably youthful age, and his journey through the corridors of power, often marked by discipline, patriotism, and moral courage, stands as a defining legacy for the younger generation. He was a man of principle — one who believed in the strength of institutions, the importance of accountability, and the sanctity of Nigeria’s unity.
To millions of Nigerian youths, President Buhari was not just a leader but a symbol of what is possible when duty to country is placed above personal interest. His life’s example teaches us that leadership is not about convenience or comfort, but about character, conviction, and the will to serve — especially when it is most difficult.
As we mourn this monumental loss, we also rise to honour his memory by reaffirming our commitment to moral politics, integrity in public life, and the collective strength of character that builds nations. Nigerian youth today, from all across the country, are called to emulate his dedication, to believe in Nigeria, and to serve her with honor and truth.
May the soul of former President Muhammadu Buhari rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire a generation of young Nigerians determined to render worthy and selfless service to our fatherland.
Signed:
Ayodele Olawande
Honourable Minister for Youth Development
Federal Republic of Nigeria
