LAGOS ASSEMBLY MEMBER, HON OGUNDIPE EMERGES AS PRESIDENT OF ROTARY CLUB OF EWU TUNTUN




  *Members Urged to Stay United for Good*


It was an evening of purpose, pride, and renewed commitment as the Rotary Club of Ewu-tuntun held its official Handover and Installation Ceremony on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The event marked the formal induction of Hon. (Otunba) Stephen Olukayode Ogundipe as the club’s new President.


The ceremony, which attracted Rotarians from across District 9111 and beyond, was a symbolic continuation of the club’s tradition of excellence and service. Ogundipe, a distinguished legislator representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, took over leadership from Rotarian Bukonla Alamu, under whose tenure the club earned the prestigious recognition as the Overall Best Club in District 9111.


The atmosphere was a blend of celebration and solemn resolve as the baton of leadership changed hands. In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ogundipe affectionately known as Omoj’omolo reaffirmed his commitment to Rotary’s ideals.


“This is not just a handover of the office,” he said. “It is a recommitment to our values and a reminder that we are stronger when we are united for good.”


He praised the achievements of the outgoing President and pledged to build on her legacy by strengthening community engagement, fostering teamwork, and promoting strategic projects that raise the club’s visibility and impact.


“Rotary is not a solo effort,” Ogundipe emphasized. “It is a collective movement for meaningful change.”


The evening also featured awards and recognitions for outstanding service, adding to the festive spirit and camaraderie in the hall.


In her valedictory address, Immediate Past President Bukonla Alamu expressed deep appreciation to club members for their cooperation and shared dedication during her tenure. She recounted the club’s major milestones, including transformative community projects and strategic partnerships that made the year a standout success.


Also speaking at the event held at the Ibis Royale Hotel, Assistant Governor Bamidele Onalaja commended the Rotary Club of Ewutuntun for its consistent performance and positive impact over the years. He expressed confidence in the leadership of Hon. Ogundipe encouraged the club to sustain its momentum of excellence. Onalaja remarked that with the evident passion, solid structure, and strong commitment demonstrated, Ewutuntun is well-positioned to remain one of the top-performing clubs in District 9111. He urged members to continue working in unity, emphasizing that teamwork and consistency are key to maintaining their leading status.


Also in attendance at the ceremony was Rotarian Olayiwola Ajayi, Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Gowon Estate and CEO of Ausbeth Technology Services, one of the key partners in the Food Bank initiative implemented by the Rotary Club of Ewu-tuntun during the last Rotary year. His presence underscored the club’s expanding network of strategic partnerships in service. The club also welcomed Rotarian Adaobi, Charter President of the Rotary Club of Ewu-tuntun Prestige, who was honored for her pioneering leadership and unwavering support for the Ewu-tuntun family of clubs.


As the Rotary year commences under new leadership, the Rotary Club of Ewu-tuntun stands energized, united, and poised for greater service. With Hon. Stephen Ogundipe at the helm, bringing decades of experience in public service and community development, the club looks forward to a future marked by impact, innovation, and integrity.
