ALL MISSIONS POSSIBLE WHEN RIGHT AND ACHIEVABLE GOALS ARE SET- HON OGUNDIPE



 

The 2025 International Customer Service Week Grand Finale, organised by the Quality Assurance & SERVICOM Unit of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), held on Thursday, 9th October 2025, at Tayo Aderinokun Hall, witnessed thought-provoking addresses from distinguished guests, with a strong message on the power of clarity in goal setting.

Speaking on behalf of the Special Guest of Honour, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode, who represents Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01 and chairs the House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, delivered a resonating remark titled “Mission Possible.”

“When you set your goals right, all your missions will be possible,” he declared. “One must remain focused to set achievable goals. I sincerely appreciate the management of UNILAG for keeping to the aims and objectives of the founding fathers.” He further assured that the Lagos State House of Assembly will continue to formulate laws and policies that will protect customers’ rights and promote service excellence across sectors.

The event, themed “Mission Possible,” brought together leaders from the business community, public service, academia, and governance to emphasize the role of quality service delivery in national development.

Earlier, the Director, Quality Assurance & SERVICOM Unit, Prof. Olufemi Saibu, who also served as the host, welcomed guests and highlighted the importance of customer service in both public and private institutions, stressing that service delivery remains a major determinant of public trust.

Chairman of the occasion and National President of NACCIMA, Engr. Dr. Jani Ibrahim, charged organisations to adopt customer-oriented strategies, noting that a nation that prioritises service excellence is destined for socio-economic progress.

In his keynote address, Dr. Taiwo Nolas-Alausa, DG/CEO of the Institute of Directors, emphasised professionalism in service leadership, urging institutions to build systems that respond effectively to the needs of their stakeholders.

The programme was moderated by Veronica Dan-Ikpoyi of TVC News, who kept the session engaging and well-coordinated, while Dr. Eni E.E Akarawak, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, ensured successful coordination of activities.

Dignitaries present included Hon. Ajomale Oladipupo, representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-02, among other notable personalities from the corporate and academic environments.

The highlight of the event was the Award of Recognition presented to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, received on his behalf by Hon. Ogundipe, for his contributions to public service reforms and advocacy on customer rights.

The 2025 International Customer Service Week at UNILAG concluded with a renewed commitment from stakeholders to uphold service excellence and ensure that every mission, driven by clear goals and determination, remains possible.
