The major opposition party in the country ,Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday elected former minister for special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Tanimu Turaki SAN as its national chairman.
Turaki was elected during the party’s national convention in Ibadan, Oyo state capital amidst controversies
The former Minister, who was the sole candidate for the top position of the main opposition party, secured 1,516 votes.
His adoption followed the earlier withdrawal of Lado Dan Marke, the 2023 governorship candidate of the PDP in Katsina state, from the race.
