Ministry Urges Citizenry,Law Enforcement Agencies To Obey The Laws For Peaceful Coexistence.

There can only be a peaceful coexistence between the law enforcement agencies and the citizens when both sides abide by the laws guiding our society.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende gave this advice at 2025 Police Youth Dialogue organised by the Ministry at Badagry LG Secretariat for the residents of the Division today.

Mr Ogunlende, represented by Director, Youth Department,Mr Abdulateef Saka, said " it is the refusal of either the citizens or the law enforcement agencies to play by the rule of law that always leads to a chaotic situation which most times can be avoided.The rationale behind this program is for us to dialogue on ways to ensure that both the law enforcement agencies and the citizens operate within the ambits of the law.No law is absolute any where in the world and Lagos State is not an exception to this."

In his goodwill message, Chairman, Badagry Local Government Area,Hon Babatunde Humpe enjoined the law enforcement agencies to reduce the number of road blocks on the roads sbecause too many road blocks could send a wrong signal to a would-be investor that the environment is not conducive for investment 
.
Speaking on the theme,"The Power of Partnership: Cultivating Trust And Understanding Between Youth And Law Enforcement Agencies",Barrister Mausi Asokere implored the citizens, particularly the youth, to be law abiding.

Her words: "the Police Youth Dialogue has provided our youth and security agencies opportunity to look at the prevailing realities and iron out areas of differences.All security agencies were established by acts or laws which are meant to guide their operations.For harmonious relationship, to exist, the security agencies must treat the citizens with respect while the citizens must obey the rule of law."

The program which brought together security agencies like the Nigeria Police Force,NDLEA, LASTMA, FRSC, LNSC, VIO NSCDC and Nigeria Immigration afforded the participants unique of learning  about the duties and responsibilities of the security agencies as well as having conversations with their representatives in a very friendly atmosphere.
