The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Football Team has secured a place in the final of the 2025 Maritime Cup after recording an emphatic 3–0 victory over Comet Shipping Agency in their semi-final encounter on Monday, 24 November 2025 at Stable Bode Thomas Surulere Lagos.
According to a press release issued by the Public Relations Officer, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Afolabi Ajayi, both teams approached the first half with caution, resulting in a goalless opening 45 minutes. The match came alive early in the second half when the NCS side, popularly known as the Greywolves, asserted their dominance.
It was disclosed that Deputy Superintendent of Customs Abubakar Mikhail opened the scoring in the 53rd minute with a superb long-range free kick that left the Comet Shipping goalkeeper stranded. The goal revitalised the Customs team and shifted the momentum in their favour.
Mikhail doubled the advantage in the 72nd minute with another expertly taken set piece, curling a precise right-footed strike beyond the goalkeeper’s reach. He later completed his hat-trick with a powerful long-range effort that sealed the victory and put the contest beyond doubt.
The statement added that the Customs team remained disciplined and organised until the final whistle, earning a comfortable and convincing win that propels them into the tournament’s grand finale.
