The Ogun State Government has announced steady progress on the ongoing rehabilitation of the Alagbole–Akute Road, confirming that asphalt overlaying is actively underway along the corridor as of Sunday, 16 November 2025.
According to the field report released today, contractors carried out a series of preparatory and paving activities to ensure a durable and high-quality finish. The scope of work completed so far includes mechanical sweeping of the road surface, application of colasé (priming) to prepare the base, and asphalt overlaying on the treated sections.
Approximately 700 metres of asphalt laying is expected to be completed before the end of today. The government further disclosed that the full stretch of the planned 2.68-kilometre asphalt overlay will be finalized by the close of work tomorrow, Monday.
Immediately after the paving works are completed, lane marking will commence to enhance traffic flow, safety, and visibility along the corridor.
The Ogun State Government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering durable road infrastructure across all local government areas, noting that the Alagbole–Akute axis remains a key intercity link supporting residents, businesses, and daily commuters.
