After Record Achievements in 2025, Lagos State Sports Commission Sets Bar Higher for 2026 at Year-End Retreat

The Lagos State Sports Commission, after recording unprecedented achievements in 2025, has set a higher bar for performance in 2026 during the Commission's end-of-the-year staff retreat.

The retreat, themed, "Reflect, Redefine, and Revolutionise – Paving the Path Forward for the LSSC," was an intellectually and practically engaging forum excellently curated to further unleash the human capacity capabilities of the workforce of the Lagos State Sports Commission.
In his keynote address, the Director General, Mr. Lekan Fatodu, described 2025 as a defining year for sports development in Lagos. The retreat featured expert-led sessions on leadership, innovation, sustainability, and public-private partnerships from seasoned industry experts: Mr. Nkem Ogbuaku, CEO, Shared Insights; Mr. Bamgboye Abiodun, Commissioner, Teaching Service Commission, Lagos; Mrs. Titi Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos on Climate Change and Circular Economy; Mrs. Nkechi Obi, CEO, Sports Nigeria; alongside a team-bonding exercise aimed at strengthening collaboration across departments.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Fatodu outlined an ambitious roadmap for 2026, emphasizing that the year ahead presents both opportunities and responsibilities that demand even higher levels of performance. "2026 will be our year to consolidate the gains of 2025 and demonstrate that our success was not by chance but the beginning of a sustained era of excellence," he declared. "With the continued support of Governor Sanwo-Olu, the dedication of our staff, the partnership of stakeholders, and the commitment of our athletes, there is no limit to what we can achieve."
