The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, has described the lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode, as a dependable bridge between government and the people.
Hon. Ojelabi made this remark on Tuesday through the State Deputy Chairman of APC, Mr. Mayegun Moshood, at the annual festive outreach organised by OMOJ’OMOLO CARES, an initiative of Hon. Ogundipe. The event, held at Owoseni Primary School, Adeyemi Street, Oshodi, witnessed the distribution of over 1,000 bags of rice and ₦15 million cash to residents and party faithful in the spirit of the festive season.
Speaking on behalf of the Lagos APC Chairman, Mr. Moshood commended Hon. Ogundipe for his consistency in grassroots engagement and community empowerment, describing him as a reliable link between the government and the people. He urged beneficiaries to see the gesture as a clear demonstration of APC’s commitment to inclusive governance, unity, and sustained support at ward and constituency levels.
In his remarks, Hon. Ogundipe, who also serves as the Spokesperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Information Strategy and Security, said the initiative was driven by the need to ensure that families across Oshodi-Isolo celebrate the season with joy and dignity.
According to him, the annual feast remains a personal tradition of giving back to the people irrespective of social or economic status.
“It is our joy to ensure that our people celebrate the season happily, whether rich or poor. Our impact must be felt in every household. What we have done today will ease burdens and spread goodwill during the yuletide,” he said.
Hon. Ogundipe added that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at ensuring that no Nigerian goes to bed hungry, expressing confidence that residents would continue to support the administration.
He reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented programmes, noting that the intervention reflects the welfare ideology of the APC and the president’s focus on citizens’ wellbeing.
Also speaking at the event, the Apex Leader in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Chief Mrs. Badejoko, popularly known as “Iya Wonle,” expressed delight at Hon. Ogundipe’s inclusive leadership style. She praised his ability to bring together all groups and caucuses in the constituency without discrimination, describing the large turnout of stakeholders as a testament to his wide acceptance.
Chief Badejoko further commended the synergy between Hon. Ogundipe and the Council Chairman, noting that such collaboration had never been witnessed in the past, and applauded their joint efforts in delivering democratic dividends to the people of Oshodi.
The event was well attended by APC leaders and faithful across the local government, including the APC Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Hon. Saheed Animashaun, the Party Secretary, Hon. Kehinde Adekunle, and all ward chairmen, among other party stakeholders
