PBAT On The Right Track : Avoid Wasteful Spending and Support Government Initiatives, Ogundipe Urges Nigerians

Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency-01, Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode, popularly known as Omoj’omolo, has urged Nigerians to shun wasteful spending and actively support government initiatives designed to drive national development.

He made this call on Saturday while addressing residents, stakeholders, and community leaders during a three-in-one event; Award Night, End-of-Year Party, and Annual General Meeting (AGM) organised by the Babatunde Faleye-led Oshodi-Mafoluku-Sogunle-Ewu Forum (OMSE) at St. Paul Anglican Church Hall, Mafoluku, Lagos.

Speaking at the gathering, Hon. Ogundipe declared that Nigerians must begin to view themselves not merely as residents of their communities, but as active contributors to nation-building.

“Today we gather not just as residents and community members, but as nation builders in our community,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) is steering the nation in the right direction, particularly through the Renewed Hope Agenda, which places strong emphasis on economic revival, empowerment, and inclusive development.

Hon. Ogundipe outlined several ongoing Federal Government programmes designed to uplift citizens and strengthen economic stability. These include:
Job creation opportunities through the digital economy, agriculture, and infrastructure projects.

Expansion of social investment programmes such as conditional cash transfers, N-Power, and youth entrepreneurship initiatives.

Empowerment of women and small business owners through grants, cooperative development, and financial support.

Strengthening of the agricultural value chain to enhance food security and promote local production.

He described these initiatives as “seeds of hope planted for a better tomorrow”, stressing that citizens must nurture them with responsibility and collective support.

According to Hon. Ogundipe, while the government is fulfilling its mandate, citizens also have vital roles to play in achieving national prosperity:
Be productive: Engage actively in work, trade, agriculture, and skill acquisition.

Be accountable: Manage resources prudently and avoid wasteful spending.

Support government programmes: Participate sincerely in empowerment and training schemes.

Encourage one another: Offer mentorship, job opportunities, and charitable support.

He added that national renewal must begin with a renewed mindset, urging Nigerians to embrace positivity in their words and actions.

“The words we speak about our nation must align with hope. Speak faith, not fear,” he advised.

Hon. Ogundipe also applauded OMSE for its grassroots impact and encouraged NGOs to:
Promote skills development and financial literacy.
Support entrepreneurship and uphold the dignity of labour.
Partner with government agencies to amplify empowerment efforts.
Foster a culture of diligence, stewardship, and productivity.

Delivering a spiritually grounded message, Ogundipe emphasized the importance of mental transformation.
“A poor man in spirit cannot manage abundance. But a renewed mind can turn little into plenty. Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

He stated that Nigeria’s journey toward poverty eradication is certain when “government and people walk together under God’s guidance.”

In his concluding remarks, Hon. Ogundipe reaffirmed his confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda:
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan; it is a covenant of transformation, a call to responsibility, and a promise of prosperity.”

He added: “Let us build together a nation where no child goes hungry, no youth is jobless, and no elder is abandoned, a Nigeria where hope is not only renewed but rewarded.”

Hon. Ogundipe called on Nigerians to rise in unity, ensuring that while the government provides direction, citizens respond with dedication, discipline, and collective support to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
