The Nigeria Customs Service, Seme Area Command, has intercepted 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at ₦1 billion along the Badagry–Seme corridor.

Deputy Comptroller-General (Enforcement), Timi Bomodi, representing the Comptroller-General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, said the seizure was made around 3:00 a.m. on February 10, 2026. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives stopped a Toyota Highlander and recovered 22 parcels of substances suspected to be cocaine. One suspect was arrested.

Bomodi noted that the operation was carried out under Section 55(1)(c) of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023, reinforcing Customs’ mandate to protect public health and national security. He commended officers of the Seme Area Command, led by Comptroller Wale Adenuga, for their professionalism.

The seized drugs, vehicle, and suspect were subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Lagos Strategic Command, for further investigation and prosecution.

NDLEA Commander Abubakar Liman Wali praised the interception, describing it as a reflection of strong inter-agency collaboration, and assured that thorough investigation and forensic analysis would follow to bring all involved to justice.
