ANGWAN RUKUBA INCIDENT: IGP DISU DEPLOYS DIG OPERATIONS, REJIG SECURITY ARCHITECTURE



Following the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area which claimed the lives of innocent citizens and left several others injured, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has deployed the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, psc, MSPSP, mni to Plateau State to assess the security situation and rejig the already existing security architecture.

On arrival, DIG Nadada paid a visit to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Bar. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, to commiserate with him over the loss of his people. He extended the IGP's condolences and assured His Excellency, that the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of IGP Disu, is committed to ensuring peace and maintaining law and order in the Nation.
DIG Umar Shehu Nadada also paid a visit to Angwan Rukuba where the unfortunate incident occurred and extended the IGP's condolences to the people. He assured them that the Nigeria Police Force has always done its best, and will continue to work round the clock to forestall any further breakdown of law and order. He stressed that the fight against insecurity is a collective effort that cannot be fought by security forces alone; he therefore called on all Plateau citizens to be actively involved in the fight against crime and criminality.

The Inspector General of Police has also made additional deployment of manpower and operational assets including Units of Mobile Police Force and Intelligence operatives to reinforce the strength of the Command and restore calm in the affected area. He appeals to members of the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agents as they strive to restore the peace on the Plateau.
