The Near Foundation, a humanitarian organization has distributed Ramadan relief packages to 23,000 families across 23 states and Federal Capital Territory during the holy month of Ramadan.
The General Secretary of the Foundation, Mr. Halil Ibrahim Ince, who spoke in Abuja on Monday, said a total of 23,000 food packages, each weighing 11 kg, were distributed.
Ince also added that the packages contained essential food items such as rice, spaghetti, beans, macaroni, salt, semovita, and garri, aimed at providing relief to vulnerable families.
“We are proud of the impact we were able to make this year. The packages were distributed across 23 states, reaching over 23,000 families.
“The Near Foundation's efforts are part of its ongoing commitment to supporting underprivileged communities during the Ramadan season and beyond," Ince said
Ince also expressed gratitude to God for the successful distribution of the packages, noting that the foundation remains dedicated to its humanitarian mission.
In the same vein, the Director of the Foundation, Hakeem Ajadi Salaudeen corroborated that the foundation has distributed about 23,000 food packages across various communities in Abuja and many other states.
Salaudeen also disclosed that the Foundation has given out 12,000 Iftar (breaking fast meals) across 23 states in the country.
While he appreciated their partners such as Time to Help Germany, Time to Help Netherlands, Embrace Relief, Nizamiye Hospital, Ufuk Dialogue, NTIC, and all our other partners and sponsors.
However, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, under the leadership of Hon Delu Yakubu Bulus expressed delight with the Foundation when they carried out the distribution of Ramadan food packages to the Muslim Ummah in Abaji.
The team first paid a homage visit to the traditional ruler of Abaji, after which they proceeded to the distribution area where beneficiaries gathered to receive the Ramadan support packages.
The SSA in her speech sincerely appreciated the Near Foundation, whom she described as 'Reliable Partners' for their consistent support and bringing relief to the less privileged community in Nigeria.
She added: "We are here in the spirit of Ramadan to distribute Ramadan packages to the people of Abaji community. As we all know this holy month of Ramadan symbolizes compassion unity and peace."
She hereby called on well wishers to emulate the good work of the foundation.
