As part of his unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare and in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Alhaji Mustapha Adio Adekunle SEGO, Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State Council, has carried out a historic empowerment programme that has continued to generate praise across Lagos State.
In a remarkable demonstration of leadership and compassion, Chairman SEGO distributed 4,000 food packages to commercial drivers, gifted brand-new SUVs to his executives, empowered two female drivers with Korope buses, and also presented car gifts to members of the secretariat staff in recognition of their dedication and service.
The atmosphere at Agege, Ladoje was filled with excitement as NURTW members, members of the host community, and invited guests stormed the NURTW State Council Secretariat to witness the landmark event. The council premises was agog with celebration as beneficiaries received their gifts amid cheers, prayers, and heartfelt appreciation.
The empowerment programme is widely seen as a practical contribution to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in the area of economic support, workers’ welfare, and grassroots empowerment. The event also attracted an array of notable dignitaries, including traditional rulers, Lagos State APC Chairman,Government officials, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Press, the Lagos State NLC Chairman, former Lagos NURTW Chairman, local government chairmen, and other respected leaders, all of whom came to witness and celebrate the initiative.
What Chairman SEGO achieved for the thousands of union members under his watch stands as a bold statement of visionary leadership, generosity, and commitment to the welfare of transport workers.
The joy on the faces of beneficiaries was overwhelming, as everyone went home with smiles and renewed hope.
