The Lagos State Government has reinforced its commitment to public safety and infrastructure development with the addition of a new fire station to the fleet of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, as part of a series of landmark projects commissioned across the State.
The commissioning, held over a two-day event from April 8–9, 2026, forms part of the laudable initiatives of the administration of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu. The projects were officially commissioned on behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
Among the projects delivered is the Tolu School Complex in Olodi Apapa, Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, which comprises 36 schools, a modern fire station, and a stadium featuring 19 mini football pitches. The inclusion of a fire station within the complex underscores the State Government’s proactive approach to safeguarding lives and property while promoting community development.
Also commissioned is a landmark multi-agency complex named in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, further strengthening inter-agency collaboration and operational efficiency among emergency and public service institutions in the State.
Speaking at the event, the Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret Abimbola, commended the State Government for its sustained investment in safety infrastructure, noting that the additional fire station will significantly enhance emergency response coverage, particularly within densely populated communities.
Adeseye further noted that the Tolu Fire Station brings the total number of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service stations to 25, making it the eleventh to be delivered under the Sanwo-Olu administration. She added that this figure excludes three stations currently at various stages of completion, with additional two slated for delivery within the current year’s budget cycle.
These initiatives collectively highlight the administration’s unwavering dedication to building a safer, more resilient, and inclusive Lagos for all residents.
