UK Ministry of Justice Delegation Undertakes Learning Visit to the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC)

The Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC) on Monday, 30th March 2026, hosted a delegation from the United Kingdom Ministry of Justice on a learning visit aimed at fostering knowledge exchange in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and court-connected mediation.

The UK delegation comprised Sorrel Evans, Justice, Home Affairs Attaché and Christina Soper, Head of Unit, Rule of Law,  the Ministry of Justice.

The delegation was received by the former Director/CEO of the LMDC, Mrs. Achere Cole, alongside members of the Management Team.
In their remarks, the UK delegates outlined the purpose of the visit, which was to gain insight into the LMDC’s innovative Multi-Door Courthouse model and to explore best practices in access to justice and dispute resolution. 

The LMDC Management Team provided an overview of their respective roles and responsibilities within the institution.

Mrs. Olubusola Ojo, the erstwhile Registrar and Head of Operations, led detailed discussions on the operations of the LMDC, highlighting its institutional framework, case management processes, and the guiding principles underpinning its success.

In her closing remarks, Mrs. Achere Cole reaffirmed the LMDC’s commitment to continuous learning, institutional excellence, and international collaboration.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of both jurisdictions to strengthening the rule of law and advancing the use of ADR mechanisms in the delivery of justice.
