AGORO UNVEILS ELECTRONIC PHYSICAL PLANNING PROCESSING SYSTEM IN LAGOS

Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, on Thursday, 18th June 2026, unveiled the Electronic Physical Planning Processing System (E-PPPS), a digital platform designed to modernise Physical Planning Permit Processes and enhance service delivery across the State.

The unveiling, organised by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, was held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, The Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

Speaking at the event, Agoro described the initiative as the beginning of a transformative era in planning administration, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve efficiency, transparency, accountability, and ease of doing business.
He noted that Lagos, as one of the world’s fastest-growing urban centres and Africa’s economic hub, requires smarter and more responsive governance systems to effectively manage its rapid growth and increasing development demands.

According to the Head of Service, the E-PPPS is a comprehensive digital ecosystem designed to streamline planning permit applications from submission to final approval.

He stressed that the success of the platform would depend on the professionalism, integrity, and commitment of Public Servants and Stakeholders in the built environment sector, urging architects, engineers, builders, planners, surveyors, and developers to embrace and support its implementation.

Agoro stated that the system would reduce bureaucratic delays through automated workflows, enable real-time tracking of applications, and provide convenient access to planning services for developers, professionals, property owners, and investors, regardless of location.

He added that an efficient planning approval process would accelerate project delivery, boost investor confidence, reduce transaction costs, and promote sustainable urban development.

He further noted that the initiative would improve the quality of life of residents through safer buildings, better-organised communities, and enhanced compliance with development standards.

Dignitaries at the event included the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide; Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Dayo Alebiosu; the Esteemed Body of Permanent Secretaries; Top Government Functionaries and Heads of Ministerial Agencies; Traditional Rulers; representatives of professional bodies in the built environment; Chairmen and Members Community Development Associations; and other relevant stakeholders.
