The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) recently received a delegation from Honeywell during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and fostering stronger working relationships within the built environment sector.
The Honeywell team led by Mrs Yemisi Busari, Senior Adviser, Government Relations stated that the visit was designed to deepen engagement with LASBCA and acknowledge the Agency’s efforts in promoting standards, safety, and effective regulation of the built environment in Lagos State.
During the meeting, the delegation commended LASBCA for its commitment to building control administration and management, noting the Agency’s role in ensuring safer and more compliant developments across the State.
Responding on behalf of the Agency, the General Manager, Bldr. Gbaye Florence, appreciated the Honeywell team for the visit and their recognition of LASBCA’s mandate. She reiterated the Agency’s readiness to collaborate with organizations and stakeholders committed to promoting best practices in the building and construction sector.
As part of the discussions, Bldr. Florence emphasized the need for completed buildings to obtain the necessary Certificate of Completion and Fitness for Occupation, stressing that compliance with regulatory requirements remains essential to achieving safe and sustainable development.
The General Manager also encouraged stakeholders to engage LASBCA early in their project processes by notifying the Agency on building projects, designs, and relevant development activities, thereby enabling effective guidance, monitoring, and regulatory support.
The courtesy visit further provided an opportunity for both organizations to discuss areas of mutual interest, collaboration, and improved stakeholder engagement in advancing standards within the built environment.
