The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, has commended and pledged full support for 1XBet’s grassroots football development initiative, the annual Community Grassroots 1X Cup Football Cup Championship in the state.
Hon. Fatodu gave the commendation at the Teslim Balogun Stadium office of the Commission when the organisers of the competition, led by the Managing Director of 1X Bet Nigeria, Ms. Geraldine Ibeanusi, paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission to intimate on the commencement of the 4th edition of the championship.
Fatodu expressed satisfaction at the growth and sustainability of the competition which he said, it has touched many lives and, particularly, the positive impact it has on the youths with various testimonies that were bound from the previous editions.

He praised the organisers of the competition and assured them that such initiative would continue to receive the full backing of the state government machinery to continue excelling.
“We will continue, as a state, to support this kind of remarkable initiative. It gives me joy to know from this conversation that, at each passing year, the competition grows. The impact is becoming more visible and a lot of lives are being transformed. So, the kind of inspiration and motivational support that we give to our talents that are scattered around the state through this platform help to shape their lives. Many of these talents, according to testimonies, have moved to international clubs,” he said
“This is one of the success stories of sporting excellence in Lagos State. And through our support, and the support of Mr. Governor in particular, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, this is a project that you will continue to see all the machinery of the state behind,” he added.
