The Borno State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Adam Bukar Bababe, has visited the Old Maiduguri GSM Market site as part of the state's ongoing commitment to urban renewal and infrastructure development.
During the inspection, the Commissioner announced that the Borno State Government has proposed the construction of a modern bus stop and a designated Keke Napep terminal beside the Post Office Flyover to improve traffic flow, enhance public transportation, and provide commuters with a safer and more convenient transit point.
He further disclosed that the government will construct over 60 modern shops to accommodate petty traders, creating a more organized commercial environment while supporting small businesses and boosting economic activities within the area.
Engr. Bababe reiterated that the project reflects the commitment of the administration of Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, Mni FNSE to providing sustainable infrastructure, improving livelihoods, and creating a modern, well planned urban environment for the people of Borno State.
