The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance and Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke , has said that generating more revenue is not enough to transform Nigeria without prudent allocation, effective oversight and fiscal discipline.
Speaking at the Strategic Stakeholders' Retreat organised by the House Committee on Finance and the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in Ikeja, Lagos, Faleke noted that every naira must be made to work for the benefit of Nigerians.
The retreat, themed "Beyond Collection: Revenue Mobilisation for Economic Growth – Building Strategies for Efficient Resource Allocation," focused on strengthening fiscal management, transparency and accountability across all levels of government.
According to Faleke, prudent management of public resources—not revenue generation alone—is the key to delivering better roads, quality healthcare, jobs and sustainable national development.
