A British woman was arrested at Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, after officers seized more than 40kg of dried cannabis from her luggage.
Immigration police intercepted the suspect, from Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom, as she prepared to board a flight to Singapore.
Routine screening of her suitcases uncovered the illicit narcotics.
Major Hem Vanna said that the woman and the confiscated evidence were transferred to the Anti-Drug Police Department for further legal proceedings under local legislation.
Authorities are questioning the suspect regarding the alleged possession and attempted trafficking of the prohibited substances.
Cambodia maintains stringent laws against drug offences, with convicted traffickers facing severe penal sentences.
