The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has pledged stronger collaboration with the NDLEA Area Command, Ojodu-Berger, to tackle drug abuse and trafficking across Ikeja.
AKOD made the commitment yesterday while receiving the newly appointed Deputy Commander, Narcotics, Fadare Isaac Olushola, on a courtesy visit.
He identified Isale-Awori and other hotspots as areas requiring sustained attention, stressing the need for enlightenment and enforcement.
“We want a drug-free Ikeja and we are committed to it. Let us work together so that our youths can be productive and become agents of Nigeria’s transformation.”
Fadare pledged the NDLEA’s support, saying the agency would sustain operations against drug dealers and sponsors while counselling and giving vulnerable youths a second chance.
