Lagos conference 57 CPS Holds Ramadan Lecture

 


Conference -57 CPS, an umbrella body of Chief Press Secretaries of 57 Local Governments ( LGs) and Local Council Development Areas ( LCDAs) in Lagos State, on Tuesday, held it's 3rd Annual Ramadan lecture, to commemorate this year's Ramadan fast.


Welcoming members of the body, the Muslim community and guests to the lecture, the Chairman, Conference -57 CPS, Ayodele Ayeyemi, who is also the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman Yaba LCDA, appreciated the residents of Somolu/Bariga, dignitaries and most especially the Chairman Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu (Dullar), for finding time to attend the lecture.


He revealed that, the umbrella body, Conference -57 CPS would be decorating the chairman of Somolu Local Government as their patron and also launch the conference official website, which is the first of it's kind in Nigeria under the body of Conference -57 CPS.


Delivering the lecture for the day titled: Role of Youth & Media in Nation Building ( Islamic Perspective) the Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Issa Abubakar Olayinka (Baba Authentic) stressed the importance of Youth and Media in building and developing a Nation Such as Nigeria.


 According to him, Media practitioners should emulate the good conducts of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) during his life time. He laid emphasis on how social media has been used by unprofessional bloggers to mar people's image, most especially politicans, using their mistakes to gain more followership or make more money.


During an interview session with journalist at the event, The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu 'Dullar' commended all members of Conference -57 CPS for organising the colourful and remarkable Ramadan lecture.


In his words; "This is very beautiful and a great one at that. For the CPS putting something like this together in Somolu Local Government is a very good one."


He therefore admonished Muslim Faithfuls in the country to pray more for Nigeria, Lagos and our various LGs/LCDAs.


"The month of Ramadan is a month of blessing, which is why Muslims around the world observe the fasting.


I want to urge all Muslim Faithfuls out there to pray more for Nigeria, Lagos and Somolu ".


He then urged every Nigerians to preach love, peace, unity and harmony irrespective of the religion they practice.
