Dorcas Adeyinka Threatens Legal Action Against Bello Sikirat Aderonke, aka Omo Golden Pen, Over Alleged Defamatory Videos

...Demands video removal, public apology and newspaper retraction over alleged defamatory publications

Chief (Mrs.) Dorcas Adeyinka has, through her solicitors, issued a seven-day ultimatum to TikTok content creator Bello Sikirat Aderonke, popularly known as Omo Golden Pen, demanding the removal of videos allegedly containing defamatory statements about her.

The demand was contained in a cease-and-desist letter dated October 21, 2026, issued by Khalif Legal on behalf of Adeyinka.

In the letter, the legal firm accused the TikTok creator of publishing videos on October 15 and 18, 2026, which allegedly contained damaging claims about Adeyinka's personal life and family.

According to the solicitors, the videos, which they said were circulated through TikTok and referenced the Bukky O TV and ESABOD platforms, contained allegations concerning Adeyinka's alleged romantic conduct and the paternity of her son.

The legal representatives described the allegations as false, malicious and defamatory, insisting that their client had no justification for the damaging claims attributed to her.

They argued that the publications had the potential to expose Adeyinka to public ridicule and undermine her reputation among her family members, followers, business associates and beneficiaries of her charitable activities.

The solicitors also expressed concern that the alleged publications could affect the reputation of the Dorcas Adeyinka Empowerment Foundation, as well as the blogs associated with their client.

Describing Adeyinka's public profile, the letter stated that she is a public speaker, publisher of House of Tms Blog and Tms Blog London, and founder of the Dorcas Adeyinka Empowerment Foundation, an organisation devoted to public empowerment.

The legal firm further stated that its client and the TikTok creator had previously been connected through an empowerment programme organised by the foundation, but maintained that this did not justify the alleged publications.

As part of its demands, Khalif Legal gave Aderonke seven days from receipt of the letter to remove the disputed videos and publish an unreserved apology on the same social media page where the videos appeared.

The solicitors also demanded the publication of a full-page retraction in three national newspapers.

The letter warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period could prompt the commencement of civil and criminal proceedings against the TikTok creator.

According to the solicitors, the proposed legal action could seek damages, injunctive relief and other remedies available under Nigerian law.

The firm cited judicial decisions on defamation and provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, as amended, in setting out its legal position.

The letter was signed on behalf of Khalif Legal and described as a final pre-action notice, with the solicitors reserving their client's rights to pursue available legal remedies.

As of the date of the letter, the document did not indicate whether the recipient had complied with the demands or whether any court proceedings had commenced.

There was also no response from Aderonke contained in the document.

The dispute highlights the potential legal consequences of allegations published on social media and the importance of verifying claims before circulating content capable of affecting another person's reputation.
