Former Governor of Central Bank Of Nigeria ,Mr Godwin Emefiele
, will be charged by the Department of State Services on Tuesday, July 25, before a federal high court sitting in Lagos.
The court has given hearing notices to the attorneys engaged in the case, and it has been learned that Joseph Daudu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), would be representing the defendant and Nicholas Oweibo will preside over the hearing.
A two-count accusation concerning the suspected possession of firearms has been brought against Emefiele.
Emefiele is charged with owning a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a license in the first count.
In the second count, the suspended CBN governor is charged with violating Section 8 of the Firearms Act and Section 27 (1)(b)(il) of the same Act by possessing 123 rounds of live ammunition (cartridges) without a permit.
