LAGOS DSVA ORGANIZES “MEN WEY SABI” AT DOPEMU ALUMINIUM MARKET

 


Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has reiterated its efforts to curb Gender-BasedViolence through behavioral mindset programmes,sensitizing and training of all relevant stakeholders.


The Executive Secretary, Lagos DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi ably represented by Mr. Adewusi Damilare, stated this at the Agency’s awareness program,tagged: “Men Wey Sabi” at Aluminium Market, Dopemu, said the purpose was to address gender stereotypes in Lagos.



She underscores the collective responsibility to empower women, urging society, leaders, and residents to champion gender equality.


The program shines a light on men’s pivotal roles in ending domestic and sexual violence, promoting partnership in marriages. A lively cooking competition, generously sponsored by Power Oil Nigeria Limited @poweroilng, showcases culinary skills.


Also, a diaper-changing and doll-dressing competition, by was held so as to showcase the male gender care for child’s hygiene in the absence of their wife, and three participants were randomly selected among the market men. It was proudly sponsored by @huggiesnigeria.



The primary objective of the event was to spread its message in a spirited manner, challenging stereotypes surrounding men’s involvement in childcare and emphasizing the essence of partnership in marriage.


Mr. Awojobi Tajudeen, President of the Aluminum Village Market, expressed his appreciation for the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu, ensuring a conducive environment for both genders to thrive.


The cooking competition’s winner, Mr. Atitobi Surajudeen Adedimejl, extended his gratitude to the agency for introducing this initiative to the Dopemu market.
