The new Chairman of the Lagos state councils of the national union of road transport workers (NURTW), Alhaji Adekunle Mustapha Adio,popularly known as Tafa Sego has appealed to chairmen and members of the Union in general to remain calm and maintain peace in their branches and units,promising that the issue of transition of power will be resolved soon ,that he will assume office soon
The NURTW boss gave the advise of Thusday at a stakeholders meeting he held with branch chairmen of the union at Oyebanji Lagos Island ,where he assured that leaders of the union have stepped in and putting finishes touches to the impasse in the union
Alhaji Adekunle Mustapha Adio Sego disclosed that era of adopting violence to change leadership in the union is a thing of the past and under his watch, he will follow due process of law in all his dealings ,warning those planning to unleash violence in the state to have a rethink, as the full wrath of the law will be brought on them
He assured members also that his tenure as chairman will witness unprecedented welfare packages for all members and no one will be left out of the wonderful packages he has in stock
At the parley, which was attended by over one hundred and ninety branch chairmen, they are promised to join hands with Alhaji Adekunle Mustapha sego in moving the union
It will be recalled that at a peace parley in December 2023 in the presence of the governor of Lagos state,it was unanimously agreed that Alhaji Adekunle Mustapha Adio Sego should be chairman,announcement of which was made by Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya ,the immediate past chairman, with a promise to conclude the transition process in one month,
