The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has taken it’s Community Engagement Team to the Onigbongbo Community to raise awareness on SGBV among its members on the 19th April, 2024.
Mr. Olatosin Akinde, Community Officer from the agency, delivered an in-depth discussion on SGBV, covering various scenarios or cases that constitute abuse, relevant laws, and reporting procedures.
He encouraged participants not to ignore issues related to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and emphasized the importance of reporting when necessary.
At the program, Chief Olukosi Akeem of Onigbongbo, representing the Oba, urged community members to utilize available services and expressed gratitude to the agency for bringing the SGBV awareness to their community.
SGBV awareness materials and the toll-free line, 08000-333-333, were distributed to participants at the program.
