LAGOS DSVA HOLDS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ON SGBV IN KETU

 



The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, through its Community Engagement Team, visited the Oba Ketu Palace to raise awareness about Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).


Executive Secretary, Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi said the Agency will not rest on it’s oars in ensuring the Survivors of the SGBV menace gets Justice.


She noted that the residents in Lagos now report incidences which she said was  encouraging and lauded the trend. 


Vivour-Adeniyi called for more collaborative efforts from the citizenry and other stakeholders as she stressed the existence of the menace is of a great concern.



Ms. Odumbo Adetoun, a Community Officer from the Agency, delivered an in-depth discussion on SGBV, covering various scenarios and cases that constitute abuse, relevant laws, and reporting procedures.


She encouraged participants not to overlook issues related to SGBV and emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents, even as mandated reporters.


His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Isiaka Balogun Oyero, urged community members to utilize available services and expressed gratitude to the agency for bringing SGBV awareness to their community.


An intensive Q&A session followed, boosting participants’ confidence in reporting cases.
